This Mother’s Day, reach out and share your heart in the form of words. Nourish that crucial bond we all need in our lives to show that there’s always strength in unity!
Every year, there’s a divide between those who believe in celebrating Mother’s Day and those who don’t. Every day is Mother’s Day” according to some while others don’t really bother much.
Let us forget all of this. This Mother’s Day, use your words and emotions, instead of material gifts, to strengthen sisterhood in your life. Mother’s Day is for the woman in You. Because she matters the most.
Here are five ways you can let the sisters in your life know how special they are. From a traditional letter on a piece of paper to DMs (Direct Messages on social media), use whatever you can to connect with the ladies.
Message that woman who knows the most about you
There’s always that one person, usually a woman, with whom you share anything and everything happening in life. We all hop from one social circle to another and most times, they exist independent of each other. But this one woman knows it all! She knows all your friends – school, college, workplace friends, hostel mates and even the neighbors! Identify her and tell her today how much she means to you! Declare your true love and maybe send her a sweet handwritten note too?
Write a letter to your mother
We can never talk enough about mothers (maybe we would if they weren’t put on a pedestal and were treated like any other human being who gets tired and feels emotions!). And that’s why it’s so important to let her know every now and then what she means to you. And please don’t post it on social media. I mean yes you can but you know what would be better? An old-school handwritten note or a detailed letter describing how she’s contributed in making you the woman you are today.
Message that woman who needs to know she’s beautiful today!
We all know that one person who’s always so conscious about her body. She never feels perfect. She’s always stressing over it and trying everything in the world to change it! All of which is good. If she feels better after the change, nothing like it! But today she needs to know that she’s beautiful just the way she is. Tell her that You love her and cherish her for all that she stands for, including her weight ❤️ send her a text or a DM now. She needs it and actually, we all need it don’t we?
Send a text to that long lost friend you still think of, but never call
I can’t help but think of a dear friend from my college days and how I think of her every now and then. Last week I asked myself why was I not messaging her? I had her email and decided to just send a Hello.
My happiness knew no bounds when she responded! She was elated to hear from me and we ended up exchanging four lengthy emails in two days!
So please if you’ve been thinking of someone lately, go let them know! They might just be thinking of you too.
Write a message to yourself
And last, but most importantly, write a message/DM/letter/email to yourself. Let yourself know how amazing you are and how far you’ve come. Remind yourself of the qualities that make you unique. List out five things that you absolutely love. Count your blessings this Mother’s Day and up your sisterhood game!
There’s nothing like a network of strong women who are ready to write their own destiny, support each other along the way and create happiness right where they are!
So who are you going to write to? Let me know!
