Reorienting your life

2020 so far has been a year we all never expected or imagined. One fine day, someone in a foreign country decided to eat an exotic animal and here we are several months later. Still surrounded with uncertainties and death.

Just a few months ago, we were cancelling plans with our friends. One fine afternoon, our kids came home from school to never see their friends again for months at least. Many were supposed to buy new house, many were supposed to go on travel trips, many were to get married and many wanted to quit their 9 to 5 and start a new business. Yet, here we are sitting on a pile of what was supposed to happen.

While the world is right now at the stage of acceptance. Accepting the new normal is the only option we have. Our loss, our fears, our mental health are our own. And there is no running away from them. But may be there is hope. Hope that one day 2020 will come to an end. One day we will have a vaccine that really works. Or we could all just move on in life. We could all just Re – Orient our life.

Now that the world is unlocking, we all too can reorient our lives in a direction we want it to go. Take baby steps and live a life that feels free. Here are a few things you can do to reorient your life.

  1. Make a Vision Board

  2. Write down your goals

  3. Analyse the situation

  4. Accept what cannot work

  5. Replace what cannot work with what will work

  6. Make a Quarterly plan

  7. Based on the quarterly plan, make a monthly, weekly and daily plan

  8. Work smart towards creating the life you want

  9. It would be smart if you don’t limit your plans with time because amongst so many uncertainties, what takes 3 months to complete may take you 8 months too.
